The winter sports complex that Reca would build on the border together with Womanian, will be relocated. The winter sports complex will now be built in Aklia, about 30 kilometres from the border. This to prevent a catastrophe for nature. In exchange for Reca's concession, Womanian will bear all the costs of the construction.
About three years ago Reca and Womanian stepped together in an ambitious project to build a huge winter sport complex at their joint border. Last month, workers found a vast pool of natural resources during preliminary construction. The construction was halted and Reca and Womanian started negotiations to decide whether these resources could be mined and to find a solution.
Mining the natural resources would provide an economic benefit but would come with negative consequences to nature. For our neighbours of Womanian, preserving the natural diversity in the region is very important. Therefore, we will not mine the resources and the winter sports complex will move to Aklia. Because we miss out on an economic opportunity, Womanian will compensate us by paying for the full construction of the complex. All conditions of the contract remain the same. Reca and Womanian will share ongoing costs and profits equally.
The Reca-Womanian Winter Sports Complex should become the top destination for winter sports. The complex should be completed and ready for use in 4 years. It should put Reca on the map as a specialist in winter sports. It is the governmentās ambition to be able to host the winter games in 10 years.
